Downloading and the everyday life:

When looking back on the days without the internet, I started to think of how I was able to watch a movie when I wanted. Firstly you would have had to wait for the particular movie to come out on the big screen; secondly, if you happened to miss that movie it meant a wait until it finally came out on video (remember those days?!) and either buy it or rent it; also if you wanted to take the cheap route, you could buy a blank tape and record the movie you wanted when perhaps 5 years later it was screened on TV. Sounds like quite a mission just to be able to watch a movie at the time you want to watch it, not to mention the costs involved. Nowadays with the introduction of the internet, new media and of course downloading you are able to download anything at your hearts content and most of the time for free. This new development has impacted our lives in such a huge way which I had not stopped to realise. The process from producer to consumer has been speeded up enormously. I’m not sure if this is necessarily a good thing as on the one hand we no longer take the time out to watch one movie at a time and have a chance to appreciate it, but on the other we are able to save ourselves inconveniences such as time and money and watch movies that we might have missed waiting for them to come out in the cinema.

I am also not sure whether it is a good thing or a bad thing but I am sure that every one does it. We no longer have the patience to wait for a movie to come out on the big screen let a lone wait for it to be released on DVD. Nowadays most people have access to movies that have not yet been released on the big screen in our country- this has had a huge impact on the black market. Furthermore you can now also download the movies on to your cell phone or your ipod which makes it even more accessible. Some people are just hooked on downloading they might not even like the movie but if they come across the opportunity to download it they will just to say that they have that movie.

gzeouuddownloading has become something that everyone with access to the internet part takes in. it has its positive as well as negative aspects. downloading information for academic use is one of the positive aspects. piracy and downloading is a negative aspect. piracy of music, movies has become something that is highly popular in todays world. music and movies can be downloaded to your mobile phones.

In some ways I think it is a good thing...

Movies are turned out at an alarming rate these days, and as a result it's hard to catch all the latest films, especially through the tedious process which Courts was talking about... The introduction of downloads makes it possible to do this though.

I think the government just needs to implement proper structure which enables some kind of subscription service allowing people to download films legally.

...Another good thing is that the movie houses have had to lower prices to keep up with internet competition which results in cheaper movies for me!!!!!
